Frequently Asked Questions

Our warm hub is a cosy haven to rest away from the buzz of ghost hunting. You may help yourself to tea, coffee and light refreshments whenever you wish to do so throughout the evening. You are welcome to leave your belongings in the hub, but anything valuable please take with you. 

When you book to come on one of our events, we place you and the friends and family you are bringing on our guest list. We do not issue tickets. Just bring yourselves. 

Please dress warm and casual and bring a torch! Good comfortable shoes and lots of layers. Some venues can be damp and cold, especially tunnels and caves. 

Yes, if you have any equipment that you would like to bring that you feel would help you on the investigation, please feel free to bring this along and you will be able to use your equipment throughout the evening. Please feel free to take photos and videos too! 

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time of the event. This will give you time to park and arrive at the venue. Paranation staff have access prior to guests arriving to set up and go through health and safety with the on site caretakers. Please check how long it will take you to travel to the event, your route and parking. Please plan your visit. We are unable to take phone calls whilst on site as we are running the event. Any questions with regards to the event can be answered in the run up to the event via email or Facebook. Please ensure you have means of returning home after the event and check buses/trains etc. Paranation will not accept responsibility for parking fines. 

You are welcome to leave at any time, please let a member of staff know. 

If you are running late please don’t worry. Arrive when you can, enter the location and make your way to the hub. These are usually near the entrance. Some venues have a site caretaker who can guide you to where we are in the building. You are welcome to leave any belongings here, but anything valuable please take with your. Come and find us. If you are lost get your bearings and arrive safely. We find it hard to take phone calls once the event has started as we are hosting. 

If you are unable attend, you can resell your ticket. Please let Paranation know as we may be able to help sell the ticket through our website or Facebook group.  Paranation are unable to offer a refund. 

You may very well see a ghost.

We use traditional methods and equipment. We can’t guarantee anything will happen, but will try our upmost to attract ghostly activity. 

WE strongly suggest taking photos and videos, as ghosts do tend to sometimes appear in photos. EVP is also another great experiment to try. 

Absolutely no alcohol or drugs are permitted on any event. If anyone appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or is suspected of bringing either alcohol or drugs to the event, they will be asked to leave immediately, and will not be refunded for any part of monies paid for the event.

There are strict laws in the UK, and these will be adhered to on your event. Where possible a designated smoking area will be available

If for any unforeseen circumstances Paranation need to cancel an event, we will offer an alternate date or issue a full refund.

You are welcome to free roam between groups and you can stay with you friends and family.

Though there may be the odd venue that requires you to be in groups.

You are welcome to carry out your own ghostly experiments, but other guests may come and join you to see what activity you are getting. 

Please be respectful when roaming the venue as other groups may be in the middle of activities. When entering a room or area please enter quietly and ask if it is ok for you to sit and watch or join in. 

As the events are run as a group activity, it is very unlikely you will have an area solely to yourself or your small group. If the venue is huge such as tunnels and caves you may be able to have space to yourselves, but this is more difficult on smaller venues.

We run very relaxed events, with free roaming and no set schedule or grouping. This enables everyone to get as much as they can from each event. 

Sadly we don’t provide transport, as guests are coming from various locations. 

Paranation provide free tea, coffee, juice, and light refreshments. Please bring something more substantial if you wish, though the odd event will not allow you to bring your own food and ask guests to purchase from their cafe. We will let you know in advance. 

Some locations have free on site parking, other venues will have street or nearby parking. Please check in advance. Paranation will not accept any responsibility for parking fines/tickets/clamps. Please ensure you are parked responsibly. 

You may smoke in the designated smoking area outside the venue which will be communicated to you in the welcome talk at the start of the evening. You may smoke whenever you wish to do so. No flames or candles inside any of our venues. Comfort breaks (toilet breaks) you may take a break when you need to do so. 

When we do the welcome talk and lit walk around, you will be shown the areas we will have access to   on the night. For your own safety please keep to these areas. Please respect the building and it’s contents and do not attempt to access locked doors, cordoned off areas or areas deemed out of bounds. 

If you have any mobility or special requirements that you think we should be aware of, please let us know beforehand. We have first aiders on site with first aid boxes.

If you have any questions during the event, please see a member of staff who will do their best to assist you 

Paranation have £5 million public liability insurance to ensure the safety and protection of our guests and our venues. Paranation carry out risk assessments for each location. Paranation carry out a walk around the location prior to guests arriving on the night. There may be stairs and areas at the location we deem unsuitable for our guests, and we will caution off these areas for our guests safety. Health and safety information will be given at the start of each event. Paranation do not allow any candles, naked flames within any location. Smoking is in designated areas only.

Age Restriction

Paranation is suitable for persons of 17 and over 

Alcohol And Drugs 

Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited at any Paranation event. Anyone suspected of being under the influence or bringing alcohol or drugs onto the event premises will be escorted from the premises without refund. 

Smoking 

Smoking is strictly prohibited within any Paranation venue. However, designated outside smoking areas are provided. 

Sleeping Arrangements 

Paranation events are throughout the night for the times scheduled on the booking information. You are expected to stay awake throughout the event. Though breaks are taken, there are no sleeping facilities. 

Disabilities And Pregnancy 

Please check before booking an event to see if the venue is suitable if you have mobility problems. It is with regret that pregnant women are not allowed to attend.

Your Belongings 

All personal belongings are brought to the event at the owner's risk, therefore Paranation will accept no responsibility and will not be liable for any loss or damage however caused to, during or home from any event. It is up to you to keep all personal belongings safe whilst attending the event. No money is needed during a Paranation event, although it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate funds for any travelling expenses incurred before or after an event. Paranation will not lend money. Please also double check train or bus timetables beforehand, and ensure your vehicle is legally parked.

Our Insurance 

Paranation is covered by its own public liability insurance. All locations are checked for public safety. Paranation would suggest clients have their own third party public liability insurance and Paranation will not accept any liability for accident or injuries incurred before, during or after an event. 

Paranation will accept no responsibility for any parking fines or clamping, damage to vehicles.

Cancelled Events 

If due to circumstances beyond our control Paranation has to cancel an event, a full refund will be given. Paranation will not be liable for any expenses such as hotels or travel due to any cancellation. Paranation will ensure clients are made aware of the cancellation as soon as possible.

Corporate Events and Private Parties 

Paranation cater for corporate events and private parties Please contact us if you have any questions or for more information, and Paranation will do their upmost to accommodate your party in an event. 

Your Paranormal Beliefs And Locations 

Paranation wishes for everyone to come to events with an open mind. Our paranormal investigators offer their own conclusions to activity and it is up to you to make up your own mind.

The locations used for Paranation investigations are ones that have reportedly known paranormal activity. However, Paranation will do their upmost to attract spirit activity, but accept no responsibility for any paranormal occurrence and accept no responsibility for minimal or no activity taking place during the evening.

Accepting Our Terms And Conditions 

Having booked a Paranation event, you accept our terms and conditions. The terms and conditions are non-negotiable; any contract which they are incorporated will be subject to the English Law and exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.

Refund Policy

No refunds will be given if a customer cancels under any circumstances.  

All Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE 

If Paranation cancels an event a refund as per the cancellation policy above will be given. 

Paranation Behaviour Policy 

It is with great pleasure that Paranation welcomes you to our events. Everyone booking an event has the right to enjoy the evening. Therefore Paranation have a strict behaviour policy and will not tolerate any threatening or irresponsible behaviour. Behaviour of this nature will not be tolerated, and the offending person or persons will be escorted from the venue and no refund will be given.
